TOKIMEC ECDIS went through a model change into ECDIS EC-6000S and EC-5000.

A full use of the latest electronics has brought a better ECDIS operation and a higher speed of displaying, adding and updating a chart. Also, chart screen becomes a good view and it is possible to display a chart screen that satisfies each user's need.
EC-6000S and EC-5000 are designed to keep a color discrepancy, which occurs on a CRT screen at the time of course changing, at a minimum.
Users will be able to have a high level safety and convenience of ECDIS.

New model ECDISes are in conformity to the ECDIS performance standard issued by IHO (International Hydrographic Office).

[ Permissible Range for Deviation from Route ]
During track control or route monitoring, a permissible range for a deviation from the route appears on both sides (right and left) of the leg the vessel is going. You can make sure the deviation distance not only by a numerical value but by an indication on the chart screen.
You can set the different permissible range of it for each leg while monitoring a route as well as while planning a route. When the vessel exceeds the set permissible range during route monitoring, an alarm for the cross track error is generated.

[ Bearing and Planned Speed for Each Leg ]
The straight line connected 2 waypoints is called a leg. The leg course and planned speed of a leg are shown at the side of each leg to confirm them at a glance.

[ Chart Information ]
You can see several kinds of chart information on the chart screen and select a field of the information to be shown.

[ Compounded Display of charts (ENC, C-Map and ARCS) ]
ECDIS EC-5000 and EC-6000S display three kinds of charts on the screen --- ENC, C-Map and ARCS. Because you can see them with being compounded state on the screen, it is possible to see such an area that has not been covered by only one kind of chart before at the same time on the screen.

[ Intruding No-Go Area of Own-ship's Guard Frame, No-Go Area Approaching Alarm and Simple Display for Chart Symbols. ]
Define a danger or an area to be avoided as a Clearing Line or No-Go Area on the chart screen. When the guard frame indicated around the own-ship gets to the line or area, an alarm is generated.

You can select the way of displaying chart symbols from 2 kinds --- simple display / paper chart display. (Simple display, right figure.)
